A Dove Off..

If you didn't already know, I love to look after my skin as I think this is the key to looking good later on in life. So I always try to moisturise my face and body as much as I can. Due to this I have come across various moisturising products, two of which being Dove Rich Nourishing Beauty Body Moisturiser for normal to dry skin and Dove Intensive Lotion for extra dry skin. And both of these have stayed my favorite moisturiser's!

Dove Intensive Lotion for extra dry skin -
Now, don't get me wrong I do love this moisturiser. Its very good for dry skin and makes my skin feel so much better after one application, although I am aware that my skin isn't as dry as some people's so it may take a little longer to work for someone who has very dry skin, but I am sure it will be just as great! This product is quite thick but easy to apply and it also feels slightly heavy on your skin. However, due to its thickness it takes AGES to soak into my skin and throughout the day of wearing this, I never felt as if it had soaked it 100%, making me feeling slighty sticky and sweaty. Not so nice! So this isn't ideal for day-wear. But I didn't let this put me off! I decided to use this as a night cream instead, so by the time I had woken up it was completely absorbed.
Overall, this product is great! It really gives my skin the boost it needs and the fact that I can only use it at night doesn't bother me as I have discovered Dove Rich Nourishing Beauty Body Moisturiser to use in the day :)

Dove Rich Nourishing Beauty Body Moisturiser for normal to dry skin -
Now, this moisturiser is a lot more practical. Its thinner and slightly more watery compared to the Dove Intensive Lotion, which is great for day-wear. I usually apply this after bathing/showering and I find that I can put my clothes on after around 10 minutes, which is fine by me :)
This moisturiser is really nice on the skin and doesn't feel heavy, it moisturises the skin just as it should and is practical for day-wear. So a winner in my eyes!

By using both of these products together, on for day and another for night, I find I keep my skin well moisturised. I would definitely recommend this duo!

My essentials.

So the other day a twitter friend @LeannaLewisUk reccommended St Moriz tan to me. So I thought I would give it a go as I knew it was really cheap (£2.99 for 200ml of dark mousse!). I ordered it from http://www.fragrancedirect.co.uk/ which if you didn't know already, is a cheap online beauty shop. While I was on there, I had a little look at some face products as I like to take good care of my face/skin. So I also ordered some Garnier Even Smoothing face wash (£1.50 for 50ml) and some Dr Cole Regenerating Night Cream (£2.99 for 50ml).

I only wanted to spend a little amount of money on these products because I had never used any of them before, hence the small sizing.

Sorry the picture has a busy background, I had to take it outside as the lighting in my house is awful and I have a rubbish camera. So this is the best i could do.

I ordered my stuff on Sunday evening and it arrived by Wednesday which I was happy with.

St Moriz Dark Mousse - 'For a healthy bronzed tan all year round'. This tan does exactly what is says! It was really easy to apply using a tanning mit as it was a good consistency, not too runny, and it came out dark so I could see where I had/needed to apply. This stopped me from getting any streaks! It also dried quite quick so I was able to put on some baggy clothing just 10 minutes after tanning! Great for busy people who don't have the time or patience to stand around naked for an hour or so! Once I woke up in the morning, I looked really naturally tanned. It was a nice brown colour, not orange at all! Which was great because I didn't want my skin blending into my hair colour! So I then had a shower to remove the guide colour and I was left with a great tan, not too dark for my fair colouring. However, if I wanted to go darker I could easily do so by re-applying until im the desired colour, so this is great for people who want a darker tan!
Overall this is a great tan, easy to apply and natural looking. I just need to wait and see how well it fades as I don't want it to go patchy. The only flaw to this tan is that it smells a little bit like vinegar, not strong but I could notice it. However, this doesn't bother me as I always tan at night and shower in the morning anyway :)
Update on the tan: This tan started off sooooo well, but a few days later it went down hill A LOT! It went really patchy and uneven all over my body. My hands looked awful, my feet were hideous and my stomach was just a mess. I moisturised throughout wearing this and I ex-foliated, so I have no idea why it went like this. I have re-tried using it a few times, but the same happens every time. Overall, this tan is no good for me :( Better start looking for a new tan!

Garnier Even Smoothing face wash - This is supposed to gently exfoliate and clarify the skin. And it did exactly that. I removed my make up the best I could with a face wipe and used my new face wash to remove the rest.  When I squirted a little onto my hand, I was surprised by the consistency as I was expecting a gel/liquid, however it was very creamy. I splashed some warm water on my face and gently lathered the face wash onto my face, it was really thick and foamy which was nice as it gave a real 'clean' feeling. After rinsing off with warm water, my face felt very clean and revived. I could also notice that it had removed my makeup by looking at the colour of the water, which was a very good sign! I then used another face wipe to wipe over my face to see if any make up was left, but there wasn't :)
I was very please with this product! And I will definitely be buying more :)

Dr Cole Regenerating Night Cream - This is supposed to be 'regenerating' and it very mush is! After washing my face and patting it dry I applied a small amount of this cream. This cream is very light and thin which makes application easy, it allows your face to feel fresh compared to other face creams that can feel really thick and in my case make my face feel really hot and suffocated. I covered my whole face and neck with this using tiny circular motions in a slight upwards direction. Once I had applied it all over, my face still felt fresh which I was really happy with. About 20minutes later, the cream was completely absorbed and my face still felt fresh.
I was really happy with this cream as I have had a lot of problems with other face moisturisers being too thick, too heavy, too oily, making my face feel suffocated and clogging up my pores. This cream however was really light and perfectly suited for me. And the next day my face felt really healthy and soft which was great because other moisturisers have left my face feeling oily or clogged up in the morning.

Prior to using these face products, I had already used the St Moriz tan (A separate bottle that I bought Tuesday from a new shop in my area). I applied this tan all over my body, including my face, on the Tuesday night so by the Wednesday I had a nice natural tan. So by using my new face products, my face looked considerably better. I had a nice tan on my face, enhanced by a good clean wash and a gentle moisturiser. Which overall gave my face a makeover.

I will definitely being using all of these products again, and using them as a trio is perfect for me. A tanned, clean, soft face. Dreamy :)

Oh My GOSH..

GOSH mascara - the best mascara I've come accross.

Okay, so I have really short, thin and fair eyelashes - a girls worst nightmare! I've tried so many different mascara's, cheap ones, exspensive ones, XXL ones, extra volume ones, you name it and I've tried them!

So one day, when I was tight for cash but in desperate need for mascara, I came accross GOSH Amazing Length'n Build priced at £5.99 in Superdrug. So I thought I'd give it a go.

I'VE NEVER TRIED ANOTHER MASCARA SINCE!

This mascara really is perfect for my needs. I purchased it in 'black' so it darkens my lashes to the colour I need them. It makes them look much thicker without clumping and it makes them so much longer. The other thing I have noticed with this mascara is that if you change the way you apply it, you will get such different results!

If I apply it to my lashes with a firm hand, really pushing it against my lashes and use short strokes, I will get lashes that look really thick. However, if I apply it with a lighter hand and drag the motion out as slow and long as possible, I will get lashes that look thinner but much longer. OR I can do both and have lashes that look like false lashes, which is good for a night out!

Here are my lashes with and without. I havent applied too much mascara, I just used a firm hand and short strokes to get a 'day-look' that I like to wear every day. If I applied it with a lighter hand and really stretched the strokes they would have been even longer and slightly thinner.

Here I have used a lighter hand to apply the mascara and used much longer strokes to make my lashes longer and thinner than above.

GOSH Amazing Length'n Build is really easy to apply. It isnt too wet which is good as you can really build your lashes. Its not too dry either, giving you chance to build the lashes up without it drying on the lashes. Also, the brush is quite thin to allow you to easily apply to your bottom lashes!

This mascara is like a three-in-one mascrra; Everyday use, Evening and Nights out! - Dreamy!

I really reccommend this mascara and for the price it think its very reasonable, considering other mascara's can cost anything between £10 -£25 in Superdrug, I think its a good idea to try this one out. Obviously I dont know how it will apply to thicker, longer or darker lashes but im sure it will be stunning! :)

You can buy this from Superdrug stores that stock GOSH products and also from their website:
And for those of you that have a Superdrug card, you will earn 50 points when buying this :)

Nail it.

Nail varnish - my worst enemy!

Me and nail varnish have never got on. Not becuase I dont like it, or that I cant apply it, simply becuase my hands dont really suit many colours and I find that it chips very quick. Although, I always use it on my toes :)

Nearly two years ago, my aunty got me a OPI nail varnish set for my birthday. It came with a red, dark purlple and a strenghthener polish. Since I got it, I never really used it. However, I did use the red polish a few times on my toes.

The red polish - 'Sweet as Annie-Thing!' This is a really nice colour, its a red with a nice shimmer which looks really nice on toes in the summer!

The strengthener - 'Original Nail Envy' I havent yet used this so I will updat once I have!

The purple polish - 'Queen of West Web-Erly' is lovely, maybe not the on-trend colour at the moment with the brights and bolds, but it is really nice for that 'elegent' look. I simply painted my nails with this, waited for it to dry, applied another coat and then finished off with a clear top coat.

The consistancy of this polish was amazingly perfect! It wasnt too runny or too thick, it applied evenly without any streaks and it was soooo glossy!! - In my eyes, this was the best polish I has used on my hands!

After applying two coats of the purple polish to both hands and feet, I finished off with a top coat from Revlon. Once all had dried, I was more than happy with the results! Both hands and toe nails were super glossy and of an even colour! I will definitely buy some more colours from OPI.

Some pricing I found on beautybay.com:
15ml bottle of most colours - £10.50
4 x mini bottles - £12.20

Due to the price of these, I would recommend buying four mini bottles to give you the chance to try out a few different colours. Trust me, its not a waste of money!!
